Waterfoot 2019

We decided that the Waterfoot site at Pooley Bridge is most appropriately named after experiencing a full day of extremely heavy Cumbrian rain. We arrived at the site on a dry Friday evening for a 2 night stay at our first ever rally. We were warmly welcomed by rally officer Alan and shown to our pitch and given plenty of information about the weekend's events. We chose to visit the excellent fish and chip van which had just arrived on site and ate this in the Mansion House bar to meet up with fellow ralliers. And what a friendly bunch they were. A few quizzes took place that evening and accompanied by great beer we had an enjoyable evening.

Saturday was a wet and wild day but we donned waterproofs and boots and walked the half hour to Pooley Bridge to check out the pubs and shops. The weather didn't improve all day and walking any further was out of the question. Back at the rally we joined quiz night in the bar which was a fun sociable event.

On Sunday morning we attended our first ever 'flag' where we even won a prize for 'lucky van'.

We now have 2 little plaques to find a spot for in our van. We've already booked for Easter at Grasmere and are looking forward to meeting friends new and old.
